IP.DEFAULTINTERFACE

Description

This keyword sets the default TCP/IP interface to use. Allowed interfaces are either the Service Interface or EthernetOverEtherCAT (EoE). This is only necessary when a host using WB or other custom IDEs (like PuTTY) attempt to connect to the drive from an IP address that is not in the drive subnet (as set either using IP.SUBNET or using TwinCAT). It is not needed when the host and drive are on the same subnet as seen by the drive.

Examples

Usage

Use this keyword to choose the right interface when the host is trying to connect to the drive from an IP address that is not in the drive’s subnet for that interface.

The default interface is the Service Interface. The code below shows how to set the default interface to the EoE interface and then show the keyword help.

Code

-->IP.DEFAULTINTERFACE 1

-->DRV.HELP IP.DEFAULTINTERFACE

Help for: IP.DEFAULTINTERFACE [Integer] [NV] [ReadWrite] [Enum]

Minval = 0

Maxval = 1

Default = 0

Actual value = 1 (Default to EoE)

Values = 0 (Default to Service Interface), 1 (Default to EoE)

Context

For more information on IP configuration, see Finding and Connecting to a Device. For more information on EoE, see Setting up Ethernet over EtherCAT (EOE).
